How to Detect a False Religion
"As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." —Galatians 1:9
It pains my heart that nearly everyone in this world is going to
Hell when they die. People laugh, scoff and criticize THE TRUTH of God's
Word; but they will be sorry the moment they breath their last breath
(Hebrews 9:27).
The fastest way to detect a false religion is to
find the source of their beliefs. It is not enough anymore to simply ask
what someone believes concerning salvation, because many of the cults are
deceptive liars; like Seventh-Day Adventists [SDA]. SDA claim to believe the
Biblical Gospel upfront, superficially; but as you study deeper into their
religion you'll find that they have
a wrong understanding of faith.
The Devil is Subtle and Deceptive in Seventh-Day Adventism
Seventh Day Adventists [SDA] profess to believe that faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. However, what they don't tell you is that they have a very different understanding of what the term “faith” means. To the Adventist, faith encompasses everything that the Christian life includes.
"To have faith means to find and accept the gospel treasure, with all the obligations which it imposes" (Christ's Object Lessons, p. 112).

Obligations? What obligations? Eternal life is a free gift, paid for by Jesus' precious blood (Romans 4:5-6; 1st Peter 1:18-19). SDA is a works-based false religion, which mandates OBLIGATIONS that the Bible does NOT! There can be no obligations for something truly to be a gift! If I tell you that I bought you a birthday present, but first you must complete a list of obligations to have it; then it WOULDN'T truly be a gift! It would be a reward that you had earned.
The entire corrupted mindset of the Seventh-Day Adventist is that you had better do your best, while trusting Christ, and hope your best is good enough when Christ's work of Investigative Judgment is complete. This false doctrine is only taught by Adventists. The term Investigative Judgment isn't even found in the Bible. SDA's have their own bizarre demonic cult which is deceitful, packed full of lies and smells with the stench of sewage from Hell. Run, run, run while you can, before you get sucked into the deadly black hole of lies and deceit of Seventh-Day Adventism!!!
Thus, faith to an Adventist means that a person must be water baptized, go to church, faithfully live a righteous life, tithe, keep the SDA Sabbath, et cetera, to be saved in their religion. Of course, that is a damnable doctrine not taught in the Word of God. Seventh Day Adventism is a false religion based upon self-righteousness and a corrupt view of the gospel.
Biblical faith is simply resting in Jesus
Christ for salvation (Genesis 15:6; Romans 4:3-5; Romans 10:3-4; Ephesians
2:8-9). Biblical faith imposes no obligation upon the sinner in order to be
saved. Faith in the Lord is all that is necessary. Eternal life is a free
gift (Romans 5:15;6:23), freely offered (Romans 10:13) and freely received
(Revelation 22:17). Salvation is receiving, not giving. The sinner who
believes on Jesus Christ, the Son of God, apart from all self-righteousness,
will be saved and go to Heaven.
How Satan Recruits People
The Bible plainly tells us how
Satan recruits people to serve him in Matthew 4:8-9. Satan offered Jesus the
world and all it has to offer. Our Lord showed us how to handle such
temptations
in Matthew 4:10, by using Biblical principles to make our decisions. In all thy ways acknowledge Him (Proverb 3:5-7).
That means searching the Scriptures (John 5:39).
Light Verses Darkness
When Jesus came into the world, He walked amongst humanity and they rejected Him completely. John 1:10, “He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.” Can you imagine? The Creator of the universe became incarnate (in the flesh), and humanity didn't even recognize Him. Do you know why? It's because they didn't care to know. So should it be surprising today that 2,000 years later people still don't recognize Jesus Christ for Who He really is? I think not. Mankind has always been evil, selfish and foolish; rejecting the truth.
Noah preached THE TRUTH for 120-years; but people were too busy enjoying life to care, and they didn't know what hit them when the flood came (Matthew 24:37-39). They all went to Hell. They rejected the truth. They knew about Noah's preaching, but they didn't care; just like most people today don't care. 1st Corinthians 1:21 says that the preaching of the cross is foolishness to them that perish. Unsaved people laugh at the Gospel and reject it; but they will perish in Hell.
There are only two sources of spiritual power, guidance and knowledge in the universe; God or Satan. God plainly tells us the truth, straightforward with nothing to hide (John 18:20). Satan is a big liar and deceiver (John 8:44; Matthew 7:15; 2nd Corinthians 11:15). The Bible is brutally honest, telling the truth (John 6:63; 17:17). Satan is a beautiful liar!
Satan uses false doctrines (1st Timothy 4:1), false religions (Mark 7:9-13), and false Christs (Matthew 24:24) to blind people from THE TRUTH (2nd Corinthians 4:4). False religions are corrupt, telling lies and misleading people. Satan has his own ministers, which appear as Gospel ministers (2nd Corinthians 11:13-15).
Understandably, you can see why it would be
VERY difficult to discern truth from fiction, and a true minister of
righteousness from a sinister minister of deceptions. How can you tell the
difference? Most people haven't a clue how to detect a false religion; but the Bible
tells us how. In the absence of Light, darkness prevails. If you listen to
the Pope, then you'll go to Hell. If you Search the Scriptures
as Jesus commanded in John 5:39, then you'll learn THE TRUTH. I am your friend and want you to be happy in eternity in Heaven. Satan wants
you to burn in Hell.
False Prophets Must Be Exposed and “Rebuked Sharply”
Most people are woefully ignorant that false religion even exists. All Buddhists, New Agers, ecumenicals and apostates have the mindset that sincerity is all that matters, and religion is never something which should lead to arguing or a fight; but Proverb 14:12 and 16:25 say that there's a way that “seems” right, but death is the result.
If people would simply read the Bible, then they would know from the following passage of Scripture that false religion is a serious matter to God...
Titus 1:10-12, “For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake. One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.”
False prophet are as dangerous animals the Bible warns. “Jewish fables” refers to Judaism. Notice that Titus 1:12 instructs believers to sharply rebuke false prophets who teach the COMMANDMENTS OF MEN, and JEWISH FABLES, that turn people away from the truth. The Bible often mentions THE TRUTH. False religions reject, ignore and do not pursue the truth. They don't care. Tragically, most pastors of Christian churches are lazy and crooked, failing to sharply rebuke the false prophets that have access to their congregation (especially greedy evil televangelists).
The way to detect false religion is to find out what is the source of their core beliefs. Upon what AUTHORITY do they establish their teachings and religious dogma? Mormonism began with Joseph Smith in 1830. Take away Joseph Smith and Mormonism ceases to exist. Their entire religion is heavily based upon the writings and teachings of Joseph Smith. By the way, Smith was a 33rd degree occult Freemason, as was Charles Taze Russell who founded the Jehovah's Witnesses in 1874. There is an occult connection (part 2) between all mainstream religions today, to varying degrees.
I tell people to follow the King James Bible, period! We don't need any other books! I'm not against reading other books; but the only Book we should base our beliefs upon is the inspired WORD OF GOD. In John 5:39 Jesus taught... SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES! This is the truth that is woefully lacking in our churches today. Too many people blindly trust their priest, minister or pastor; but they ought to be trusting upon the PROMISES of God's Word. Titus 1:2 tells us that eternal life is a PROMISE from God, made before the world began. This is the gift of God to those who believe on the Lord Jesus (Acts10:43).
All false religions have their source in a woman, man or group. Scientology is Ron Hubbard. Seventh Day Adventism is Ellen G. White. However, Biblical Christianity goes back to before the beginning of time, because Titus 1:2 teaches that God PROMISED eternal life BEFORE the world began. Amen! God is a good God!
So the easiest and quickest way to detect a false religion is to find out what is the root source of their core beliefs. You can't ask the cultist themselves, because they'll lie to you. No Seventh Day Adventist is going to tell you that they are following Ellen G. White. No Jehovah's Witness is going to admit that they are following Charles Taze Russell. You need to study up on their particular religion on the internet, which is a fairly reliable source of truth IF YOU KNOW WHERE TO LOOK. In general, Independent Fundamental Baptist ministries are solid and trustworthy. Beware of Roman Catholicism, a deadly Satanic cult of Pope and Mary worshippers. I bow to no one except the Lord Jesus Christ, My God and Redeemer!
